Frequently
Asked Questions
|
|
|
| Why
should I place a ticket ad with bigorangetickets.com? |
- You
immediately reach a potentially large audience of people.
- It's
free, which is a lot cheaper than a newspaper ad.
- All
or most home football games are usually sold out well in
advance.
- You
don't have to stand on the street corner on game day trying
to find or sell tickets.
- You
don't have to place the ad several days in advance like
you would have to do for a newspaper ad. You may be able
to place an ad as late as game day morning and find buyers
or sellers since your ad is posted on the Web immediately.
- You
have an alternative for selling extra tickets if, at the
last minute, someone in you party cannot attend the game.
- You
have an alternative for finding available tickets if, at
the last minute, you have someone wanting to join your party.
- Your
ad becomes easily available to out-of-town UT or opponent
fans. If you give an email address in your ad, they may
be more willing to deal with you and avoid spending money
for long-distance phone calls.
- You
have complete self-sufficiency and control over your ad.
You compose it, enter it, and change it as often as you
like. You do not have to depend on some other person to
do this for you.
- If
you happen to have a web site or page of interest, you can
optionally link your bigorangetickets.com ad to your site.
|
|
|
|
| How
do I place an ad? |
- You
must be registered to place an ad. The registration process
will set up your personal Logon ID and Password.
- Select
the Log On option from the menu at the top of each Big Orange
Tickets public page. Enter your Logon ID and Password, then
click the Log On button. You will be taken to the private
bigorangetickets.com secure server that will protect all
your subsequent transactions with encryption.
- On
the secure page, click the "Place Ad" button.
You are presented with a form to enter your ad.
- After
you enter and submit the ad, it will be displayed for your
review. At this point, you have the option of returning
to the form and making changes. The ad is now available
to the world.
|
|
|
|
| Why
do I need to register to place an ad? |
You
need to register to obtain a personal Logon ID and a Password.
After you place an ad, you may later need to go back and
change it, insert new information, correct errors, take
the tickets off the market, etc. Having a Logon ID and Password
ensures that you are the only person that can access and
modify your ad.
|
|
|
|
| How
do I register? |
- From
any public page in the bigorangetickets.com site, click
on the "Register" menu item.
- You
are presented with a Registration Form.
- The
only required information to enter is a Logon ID.
The Logon ID must be your email address, and must be
a valid email address.
- There
is other optional information that you can elect to enter.
- You
can optionally enter name, address, and phone information.
This information is kept confidential and is not shared
with anyone.
- You
can optionally enter contact information. This information
is displayed with each of your ads so that potential clients
can contact you about your tickets. You enter only the information
you want to be made public.
- When
you submit your Registration Form, you are immediately sent
an email containing a temporary password. You can then log on
with your logon ID (your email address) and the temporarily
assigned password. The first time you log on, you will be
directed to change your password to something that you can
more easily remember. Once you have changed your password,
you are successfully registered and can place your ad.
|
|
|
|
| Why
does my Logon ID have to be my email address? |
- First
of all, it is easier for you to remember your email address
than some made-up code or nickname. If you are registered
on other sites, you may have learned how difficult it is
to have the same ID everywhere because it is possible that
someone else has already picked your choice at some of the
sites.
- Secondly,
bigorangetickets.com must have a confirmed method of contacting
you should there be some problem or question concerning
your ad or your account. For example, if you forget your
password, bigorangetickets.com can send it to your Logon/Email
address with assurance that it is being sent to the correct
location.
|
|
|
|
| Can
I place an ad immediately after registering? |
Almost.
When you submit your registration form, bigorangetickets.com
immediately sends you an email containing a temporary password.
When you receive this temporary password, you can log on and
place an ad after you change the password to something easier
for you to remember.
The
time delay between the time you submit your registration
form and the time you are allowed to place an ad depends
on the efficiency of the internet email system at that point
in time and the speed at which you respond after receiving the temporary password.
You could receive the email within seconds
or within a few minutes if the internet email system is
running OK. If either the sending mail server or the receiving
mail server is having problems, it may take a few hours
or more. To be safe, register in plenty of time to allow
for any potential problems.
|
|
|
|
| Why
do I have to go through the process of receiving a temporary password? |
This
process confirms that your requested LogonID is exactly
equal to your email address. You have to request the correct
Logon/Email ID to successfully receive the temporary password by email.
Activating your account confirms that your email address was
correctly entered as your Logon ID.
|
|
|
|
| What
if I register with a Logon ID that is not equal to my email
address? |
You
will not be able to access your Logon ID because you will
never receive the temporary password by email.
|
|
|
|
| What
happens if I never receive my temporary password by email? |
If
you do not immediately receive your temporary password by email, it may
be because the internet is slow at that time. If you never
receive the email, it may be because your requested Logon
ID does not exactly equal your email address. Or, it may be
caused by an internet mail server being down for an extended
time or some other technical problem. In any case, if you
never receive it, contact support@bigorangetickets.com
|
|
|
|
| Why
should I enter any personal information on the Registration
Form? |
Entry
of personal information on the registration form is entirely
optional. However, this information may be helpful if bigorangetickets.com
needs to contact you and is not able to contact you using
your Logon/Email ID. Any information you enter here is not
shared with anyone else. It is maintained on our secure server
and any of this data transferred between your computer and
the bigorangetickets.com site is encrypted before being transmitted
across the internet.
|
|
|
|
| Why
should I enter any contact information on the Registration Form? |
Entry
of contact information on the registration form is entirely
optional. However, entry of contact information informs
potential clients how to contact you about your ad. You
can enter as much information, or as little information,
as you want: name, company, address, phone, fax, or email
address. Whatever you enter will be appended to each of
your ads when each is displayed to the public. If you do
not enter any contact information here, you will have to
provide some contact information in each of your ads individually.
The advantage of entering this information on the registration
form: 1) It will automatically append to each of your ads.
2) If you change any contact information, it will automatically
and immediately reflect in each of your ads. 3) Contact
information will not take up any of your allocated space
in the body of your ads.
|
|
|
|
| What
is the purpose of the Common Web Site Address on the Registration
Form? |
If
you have a company or personal web site or page of interest,
you can reference it on the registration form. If you reference
the site on the form, each of your ads will automatically
include this link.
|
|
|
|
| Can
I change any of my registration information after my Logon ID
is activated? |
Yes.
Simply log on and select the desired option. You can change
your password, any personal information, any contact information,
and any common web site address. You can do this on your own,
at any time, and as often as you wish. However, you cannot
change your Logon ID on your own. If your email address changes,
please contact support@bigorangetickets.com
for instructions.
|
|
|
|
| Can
I modify an ad after it is posted? |
Yes.
Simply log on and select the desired option. You can change
anything you have previously entered. You can do this on your
own, at any time, and as often as you wish. In fact, you may
type over all the old information with a completely new ad.
However, you cannot change the ad expiration date.
|
|
|
|
| Can
I remove an ad? |
Yes.
You can physically remove an ad, or you can keep the ad online but
hide it from public view.
To remove an ad, log on and select the "View/Modify My Ads" option.
On the ad you want to delete, click on the "Delete" button.
To hide an ad from public view, log on and select the "View/Modify My Ads"
option. Then click on the "Modify" button for the ad you want to hide. Select
the "Hide It" option and click on the "Finish" button. You can still access
the hidden ad, but it is not viewable by the public.
|
|
|
|
| What
happens to my ad when it expires? |
bigorangetickets.com
automatically removes expired ads. In some cases, the ad may
not be removed immediately. Any ad that is expired, but not
yet removed, cannot be viewed from the public site, but is
still accessible by the owner within the secure site.
|
|
|
|
| Why
do I sometimes get automatically logged off? |
To enhance
your security, bigorangetickets.com automatically logs off a logged-on
user after 60 minutes of inactivity.
For example, if you forget to log off, this will be taken
care of automatically for you at the expiration of this
time period.
Each
time you click to a new page, the time limit is reset.
To
avoid getting logged off while you are in the middle of
composing an ad, save any work in progress if you will not
be clicking to a new page within this time period. If you
take a break in the middle of composing an ad, select the
option to hide it from public view, go ahead and submit
it in partial form, come back later and modify it to completion,
then select the option to remove it from hidden status.
|
|
|
|
| What
is a hidden ad? |
Hiding
an ad keeps the public from seeing it. However, you are
still able to see it and modify it in your private and secured
area.
Why
would you want to hide an ad from public view? When you
initially post the ad, it is immediately available for public
view if you do not choose to hide it. You may want to post
it and hide it so you can review it carefully before it
is made public. Or, you may have found or sold your tickets
and you want to remove the ad from public view.

|
|
| What
is a promotion code, and how do I get one? |
bigorangetickets.com
may occasionally offer special deals to individuals that
deal with a volume of tickets. Each individual that is selected
for this promotion is given a code that must be entered
when they register. Entry of this code allows them to take
advantage of the special offer.
If you
are qualified for a particular offer, you may request a
promotion code. To see if you qualify, send an email to
sales@bigorangetickets.com along with your name, company
name, web site address (if any), mailing address, phone
number, and email address (use the email address that you
want to become your bigorangetickets.com Logon ID). If qualified,
you will be sent a promotion code by email.
|
|
|
|
| Can
I place just one ad to describe multiple game tickets? |
Yes.
If you want to advertise for more than one game, but not
for a full season ticket package, select the Multiple Game
option. One caveat: if someone is looking for a particular
game, there is a possibility they will only click on the
menu for the specific game, and not the multi-game.
